West Coast Sales Manager – Remote 269 views

Tosca is growing and we are seeking a highly talented, sales minded individual to join our team! The West Coast Sales Manager is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing sales and new business opportunities within the produce industry. This is a remote position working from home and candidates can live in either California, Arizona, or Washington.

Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):

  • Function as primary sales contact for servicing existing accounts and for growing our produce business segments
  • Carry out sales activities by engaging with existing customers and suppliers and responsible for communicating Tosca’s offering to perspective customers
  • Provide account retention/operations support for customers and projects
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
  • Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
  • Identify new business development through the targeting and intelligence gathering of supply chain stakeholders within the protein and poultry industries. Stakeholders include our suppliers, distribution centers, salvage operations, and third party sort operations
  • Partner with grocery retailers (management and store level interaction) in coordination with Tosca’s overall retail strategy to evaluate new business opportunities
  • Coordinate as primary contact in providing a comprehensive understanding of the supply chain network flow (i.e. transportation infrastructure and requirements) to our key stakeholders
  • Conduct pack-outs and pilots within the supply chain to test and prove viability of Tosca’s RPC program
  • Work with Tosca team members to validate opportunities prior to presenting solutions to prospective clients, this includes a cross functional team of operations, finance and business development, transportation and logistics and product development
  • Develop and coordinate project rollout strategies for secured new business opportunities
  • Actively participate in project roll outs through completion or until Sales & Service and Customer Solutions teams can actively manage effectively
  • Work closely with the operations team to target work that leverages our current infrastructure for improved speed to market growth

Requirements, Experience, & Education (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • 5-7 years of experience in sales or new business development role, preferably in operations, supply chain, logistics or a food manufacturing related service industry
  • Experience in the packaging industry and/or food supply chain industry is a plus
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing is preferred, however a successful track record in sales or new business development will also be considered for overall qualifications
  • Proficient working knowledge of the MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
  • Proven ability in identifying customer solutions, negotiating and closing new business
  • Strong customer facing skills are required in addition to excellent customer service experience
  • Excellent oral and writing skills
  • Excellent communicator both internally and externally face to face
  • High level of organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to think quickly, make decisions and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to establish good rapport with all customer types and various levels of contacts
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%-75%
