The Regional HR Manager, Retail provides leadership and partnership to Sephora Retail management and employees (typically for one to two regions) to deliver a spectrum of strategic and tactical HR support and programs which are aligned with the Retail business initiatives. This role provides data and recommendations related to effective coaching, retention, succession planning, and other employee-related activities. The Regional HR Manager is a constant champion for Sephora’s principles-based culture and core values and drives HR functional excellence and process improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan & Align

Serve as change champions in support of HR/Talent initiatives and functional strategy

Analyze trends/metrics to develop solutions

Support teambuilding initiatives

Coach employees on policy and procedure applications, employment/labor laws, conflict resolution, and change management to promote a fair and equitable work environment

Partner with Compensation to ensure competitive and consistent field total compensation; consult and recommend practices that support Sephora’s compensation philosophy.

Engage & Retain

Culture/engagement surveys and action-planning support

Facilitate succession planning/talent reviews

Conduct career conversations/stay interviews

Coach and advise where appropriate to help employees grow and develop in alignment with business and personal goals

Learn & Develop

Assess/identify training needs for leadership development and collaboratively build solutions

Develop District Manager (DM) and Store Director (SD) capabilities in HR practices. Coach them to effectively manage the HR demands of their districts and stores.

Performance Management

Ensure effective implementation of performance tools and processes; partner with field management on all employee relations issues

Discuss performance concerns/opportunities and identify root causes, offering effective and holistic solutions.

Participate in/conduct Climate Surveys as needed.

Manage the annual performance appraisal and salary planning process for all field employees by region.

Partner with RD/RVP, DMs and/or SDs to investigate employee relations issues, including performance management, policy violations, harassment, and other specific areas.

Skills and Characteristics:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and internet navigation

Strong interpersonal communication skills, including influencing and ability to encourage innovation

Highly collaborative style. Willingness and demonstrated ability to work in teams

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task and exercise independent judgement

Ability to effectively work with ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Action and detail oriented and a drive for results

Sound judgment and discretion; able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

Strong presentation and facilitation skills

Experience/Education Required:
5+ years progressive experience in Human Resources preferred

Minimum of 3 years in an HRBP or field leadership role

Prior employee relations experience

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience

Bi-lingual in spanish preferred
