Marketing operations employees develop and roll out processes and systems needed for efficient and effective marketing. The main goal is to maintain smooth operational excellence and organizational agility across global teams or market units. They do this by using formalized best practices, processes, infrastructure, reporting, and analytical frameworks.

Business Management is part of the Global Marketing Operations COO function. Business Management delivers core marketing operation services to the Marketing Functions, Regions and GTM Priorities. Each Business Management team (BMO) is responsible for helping their MLT or key stakeholder plan, execute, analyze and optimize their business.

This role will be responsible for supporting the 2018 annual GTM planning including: Work within SAP’s integrated planning process. Establish and coordinate plans and initiatives that are aligned with corporate and marketing strategy. Ensure plans and initiatives are appropriately funded and have sufficient resources to attain revenue-achievement and market-awareness goals. Alignment with Sales, business units, IT, HR, and Finance.


More specifically, this role will support the following priorities and tasks: Coordinate with marketing functions and regions developing business plans, marketing strategies, and high-level marketing programs Alignment and interlock of strategic and operational objectives by evaluating corporate objectives, market trends, competitive positioning, operational processes and performance, and organizational capabilities. Budget-planning process; resource allocation (including programs, technology investments, and headcount) to align activities with corporate and marketing objectives and improve cost effectiveness Analyses to evaluate marketing performance against strategic and operational objectives; assign tasks and monitor progress Recommend potential new models and approaches to evaluate marketing performance (for example, ROI) Benchmark internal and external performance; identify key metrics and determine applicability of benchmarks, primarily surrounding investment and budget allocation, resource effectiveness, cost of return, and ROI. Implement the ongoing Operating Model to manage and optimize the plans and planning process during the year


MBA Student Previous internship experience a plus Business planning and management as it relates to business strategy and the sales and marketing function Analysis including benchmarks of internal and external performance; key performance metrics and applicability of benchmarks, investment and budget allocation, resource effectiveness, cost of return, and ROI Change management and the value of change within the bigger picture of the organization Communication and project management skills
