We are looking for a strong Front End Developer to join our Cast & Checkout team working on jcp.com and Omni-channel initiatives. In this role your main responsibilities will include front end web (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) development, which includes definition, design and implementation. A key part of your responsibilities will include communicating with engineers on the ecommerce team, as well as other parties like UI designers and product managers.

Core Requirements & Competencies:

  • Strong client-side coding skills and experience (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
  • Hands on experience applying Web standards (W3C) and best practices, for HTML, CSS & JavaScript
  • Ability to create clean, organized and modular HTML and CSS code, leveraging current techniques, tools and libraries
  • Demonstrated experience crafting solutions for layout and styling issues across multiple browser
  • Experience developing modern JavaScript code for production environments, using common libraries
  • Ability to use AJAX with restful APIs
  • Knowledge of SASS, LESS, or other CSS preprocessor
  • Experience with grid layouts, media queries, and other responsive techniques
  • Experience applying JavaScript design patterns (including MVC)
  • Ability to follow OOP principles in JavaScript development
  • Hands on experience developing with jQuery and jQuery Plugins
  • Understanding of building complex interactive UI uses the latest approaches
  • Experience refactoring existing code to improve readability, code reuse, performance, and maintainability

Desired:

  • Experience with JavaScript task runners like Grunt or Gulp
  • Familiarity with BEM naming methodology
  • Familiarity with JavaScript testing frameworks such as Mocha or Jasmine
  • Understanding of Design Patterns concepts, software architecture, SCRUM
  • Experience in retail & social industries
