Position: Drone Engineering Intern (Fall 2017)

Measure is a leading provider of Drone as a Service® for commercial enterprises, providing turn-key and on-demand drone flights and data products. Drones are quickly becoming an essential tool to deliver high-quality data to customers within a variety of sectors, including agriculture, energy, telecommunications, and newsgathering.
Measure’s Drone Engineering department is responsible for every aspect of drone functionality, from researching new technology to ensuring no mission is hindered by equipment malfunction. The Drone Engineering intern will assist the Drone Engineering department to develop and maintain Measure’s UAS platforms and sensor technology. This intern will also assist with company’s flight operations by managing FAA maintenance manuals and standardizing its operational work flow to meet customer’s needs.
Assist in all phases of drone mission development.
Manage maintenance records, schedule aircraft parts requests and repairs, maintain system proficiency and on all flight operations.
Develop documentation to meet Measure’s logistical mission requirements.
Research and recommend new technology to improve performance and publish the results of in technical report form.
Maintain airworthiness reports and testing phases capturing all aspects of current and future systems capabilities.
Obtain qualifications in Measures primary drone platforms.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the capabilities, limitations, sensor payloads, and data processing that Measure pilots employ.
Coordinate and control logistical movements of all drone equipment in support of training missions and customer operational requirement.
Ensure all proper flight entries are made into flight management software program for proper maintenance record keeping.
Minimum 20 hours per week commitment.
Obtained or currently pursuing a degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
Unquestionable ethics and commitment to excellence.
Experience with robotics and basic electronics.
Experience with UAVs and/or RC piloting.
Keen understanding of civilian airspace and aeronautical charts.
FAA Remote Pilot Operator license.
